Summer in Plymouth Overview

One thing you can be sure of; summer in Plymouth will not disappoint you. Its location in the Twin Cities is outstanding with easy access to the entire metro. There is a much to see and more to do. However, we should warn you that once you experience summer in Plymouth, you will probably never want to leave.

I promise you will never be bored. Your likely problem will be trying to choose from several appealing events.  Love outdoor activities? We have you covered in, around, or on the water.  Love art? We have several juried art festivals in the area.  Love music?  Yeah like who doesn’t!  We got it.  Let’s take a survey of some of our favorite annual events that make summer in Plymouth rock.

June Events

Stone Arch Bridge Festival 

This annual favorite takes place on Father’s Day Weekend every year. Highlights include local music, art vendors, a car show, and lots of great food and drink. Activities line the Mississippi waterfront around the historic stone bridge near St. Anthony Main in Minneapolis.

Rock the Garden 

The venue is the Sculpture Garden at the Walker Art Center.  Many say that this is where music and art converge. This yearly event is always a sellout! Every year there is a new lineup of buzz-worthy bands for your listening pleasure.

Summer in Plymouth July Events

Basilica Block Party

If you love rock and pop music, this event is for you. The venue is St. Mary’s Basilica in Minneapolis. This two-day rock-pop music festival is dubbed summer’s hottest church party by locals. The Basilica Party is the largest music event within the city limits of Minneapolis

The Aquatennial  

The annual event originated in 1940 to celebrate the city’s famous lakes, streams, and rivers. Locals call it “the best days of summer. What is it? Four days of fun-filled activities which include a parade, a marathon, live performances, live music, and a water ski show.

August Events

The Minnesota State Fair

For millions, this is the event of the summer. The Minnesota State Fair is the largest in the country by attendance.  The happening is about music, food, Blue Ribbons, 4 H, and more food. Food on a stick. Food deep fried.  The kids love the animals and the midway. It’s where Summer in Plymouth and all the metro communities wrap the season up. Minnesotans like to call it The Great Minnesota Get-together. And so it is.

Plymouth is a Super Place to Live

So what else is worth mention about summer in Plymouth?  Music and movies in the park are one thing. Access to green spaces is another. There are miles of trails for walking and biking both.  Summer in Plymouth would not be complete without water. You’ll find several lakes in the community where you can swim, fish and boat. After all, they don’t call Minnesota the land of 10,000 lakes for nothing!

Now that you know what a super city Plymouth is, you should consider buying a home here. Summer is an awesome time to move into new digs, ready for when the school year arrives.
